River of Living Water

How do we have openness to the Lord? How do we become empty so that the Lord can fill us with His will, His needs, and His grace? How do we keep from becoming stagnant?

Prayer.

It is easy to say prayer for many, but for me, when my journey fully began in the Lord, I asked where do I start? I had always prayed but didn’t know how to speak to the Lord in prayer. What do I say? …and then I said it: Lord Jesus help me to see YOU, help me to hear YOU, and help me to receive YOU in my heart, even if I don’t understand what I am seeing and hearing, keep my heart with you always!

That was the beginning for me. I believe it is the beginning of the decluttering of life. For in Hebrews 11:1 “Faith is the realization of what is hoped for and evidence of things not seen” and in that we can rest in knowing in what the Lord says “Whatever you ask for in prayer with faith, you will receive” Matthew 21:22.

“Let anyone who thirsts come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as scripture says: ‘Rivers of living water I shall give will never thirst” John 4:15 …so the question lies in ourselves: are we going stop and ask for help in the decluttering of our lives? Are we going to ask for openness to the Holy Spirit so that the Lord can fill our emptiness with everlasting living water? I hope so. I pray that today we all have eyes to see, ears to hear and a heart to receive the whispers of the Lord calling each of us by name.
