A Drop Is Sometimes Nothing by Itself
In the Diary of St. Faustina (no. 686) she makes a statement: “How can a drop stop a wave: O yes! A drop is nothing by itself, but with You, Jesus, I shall stand up bravely to the whole wave of evil.”
How many times have we felt this way? Like, what can I do? I am just one person! We stop ourselves short from what God has intended for us. We tell ourselves we can’t do it, whatever it is; or the pain from our circumstances seem to overwhelm us.
There are so many reasons why we stop ourselves – the classic feelings of “I am one person,” or “I can’t because I am not equipped with the tools I need,” or the other “I have prayed and prayed and nothing – I just don’t understand what I can do. If only I had a sign.” So often we stop ourselves from opening the door to Jesus who is on the other side of that door, or right in front of us.
When we feel overwhelmed and anxious, the Lord says, “Come to me” Matthew 11:28 – so run to him; don’t look for signs. HE has already given the sign HIMSELF. Luke 11:29-32 He is just waiting for us to come to place everything in the palm of HIS hands! To have a humble and contrite heart is not easy, but with discipline, humility and obedience in prayerful conversations with God one can do all things! Strive to make a difference in the world you are in, through serving those God has graced you with, that is the beginning of change; the beginning of breaking down walls that keep us bound by sin and out of loving relationships.
May God keep you and Bless you today and always + Amen.
